About the Position:
We have casual positions available with opportunities for growth. Initial hours are estimated at 10-15 per week, with potential expansion as programs develop.
We seek friendly and welcoming support workers who are passionate about helping others and embracing new experiences as we expand our programs at our Toowoomba centre.
Our community programs focus on teaching social skills, independent living skills such as cooking and life skills training, along with creative activities and well-being initiatives.
You will assist participants in accessing the community and engaging with peers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver engaging programs that help customers achieve their goals and aspirations.
* Support customers to participate in social, recreational, and skills development programs.
* Provide limited personal care and manual handling assistance.
* Be an advocate for our customers, supporting them to achieve independence and success.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum Cert III in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Hold a current QLD Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module training.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of professional boundaries.
* Ability to perform all duties with confidence and autonomy.
* High level of energy and enthusiasm for the role.
* Availability for immediate start or short notice commencement.
Types of Duties May Include:
* Supporting clients to maintain independence.
* Helping clients achieve personal goals through community participation.
* Assisting clients in everyday skills like cooking, gardening, fitness, travel training, and money management.
* Implementing mealtime management plans and positive behaviour support plans.
* Accompanying clients in the community, participating in events and activities.
