The Role
Join this busy team in a supportive environment in a Housing Service Centre. In this role you will provide a broad range of applicant, tenancy and property management services and advice to customers with complex needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Manage property maintenance and conduct property inspections.
* Maintain accurate customer and property records using the Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems with a high level of accuracy
* Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, changes of tenancy and vacancies and liaise with other housing providers ensuring departmental compliance
* Respond to customers face to face and via the telephone, undertake customer interviews, make referrals to support service agencies and assess new social housing and private housing assistance applications from customers.
* Manage and monitor rent and maintenance arrears, rent assessments, payment arrangements, refunds and collections
* Conduct home visits to properties and investigate and facilitate any tenancy disputes and complaints.
You
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with strong empathy and have previously worked in a customer facing role. You will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Proven customer service experience (telephone or face to face)
* Previous experience in the community services industry is highly desirable, however not essential
* Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
* Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence to quickly learn additional IT systems
* High confidentiality, empathy and resilience to deal with vulnerable customers
* A National Criminal History check will be required before placement
* A current driver's license
