Overview
Amentum is seeking a Electrician to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. As an Electrician, you will install, maintain, and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes, and other electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances. The Electrician will follow maintenance schedules, inspections, or work orders; perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions and repair as necessary.
Security - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Typical Responsibilities
* Inspect, maintain, clean, repair, test, and adjust electrical circuits, motors, lighting fixtures, fans, switches, office and heating appliances, clocks, rheostats, thermostats, and electrical drills, grinders, and shop equipment.
* Test circuits and equipment using voltmeter, amp meter, wattmeter, megger, and ohmmeter.
* Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits.
* Install splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power sources.
* Determine work methods from verbal and written assignments and plan details using sketches, wiring diagrams, or blueprints.
* Consult supervisor for interpretation of unusual or complicated planning, layout, and specification problems.
* Install, maintain, and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes, and other electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances.
* Follow maintenance schedules, inspections, or work orders; perform maintenance services, diagnose system or equipment malfunctions, and repair as necessary.
* Provide training as required to assist less experienced personnel to improve skills and safety awareness.
* Work safely and with attention to the safety of self and others; comply with environmental permits and regulations.
* Read and understands Task Hazard Analysis to identify risks to health and safety during job tasks.
* Possibility of overtime; maintain good attendance; may be assigned higher level duties as needed.
* Report potential environmental concerns to Environmental Service and follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for hazardous materials.
* Perform other duties of the same or lower level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* At least 1 year of work experience in the electrical trade.
* 18 years of age or older.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to obtain/maintain certifications required by Amentum's Master Training Plan.
* Computer literacy and ability to operate general office equipment.
* Good writing and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to work overtime, varying hours, and/or rotating shifts.
* Thorough understanding of equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
* Detail oriented with good problem-solving judgment.
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner and perform safety sensitive duties.
* Maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform essential functions, including HWAD drill, contingency and emergency requirements.
* Must have a valid Driver's License and pass an MVR check with a clean record.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Four (4) years as an apprentice or one (1) year as a journeyman electrician preferred.
* Certifiable technical or trade school training preferred.
Safety Sensitive
This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates must complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam, and respiratory screening, and meet personnel suitability and reliability requirements per applicable regulations.
Benefits
This position falls under the local Union and includes medical, vision, dental, STD and life insurance, PTO (120 hours per year), sick leave accrual, paid holidays, 401K, and an employee stock option plan.
Compensation
$30.38 - $37.32 per hour. The stated range is a good-faith estimate and may vary based on factors including responsibilities, experience, and applicable laws.
