Boeing Aerostructures Australia is Australia's leading designer and manufacturer of composite flight control components for commercial aircraft. We have a Manufacturing Manager - Day shift role available in our Operations team for a highly motivated and passionate hands on leader. We are looking for someone who is ready to champion safety, quality, continuous improvement, as well as promote a positive team culture and help drive performance.
This is a full-time, permanent role based at our world class Port Melbourne Manufacturing facility.
**About the role**
Reporting to a Senior Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in executing to operational performance and collaborating with peers to maintain the operating rhythm of Operations as part of the Value Stream Leadership team.
You will develop and implement plans to manage manufacturing teams, assets and support staff to meet and exceed defined performance targets.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading successful teams performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines
- Promoting and supporting a team environment through positive relationships in line with Boeing Values
- Developing strategies to ensure performance to meet operating budgets
- Maintain safe and efficient manufacturing processes
- Review and execute plans, make adjustments and resolve issues impeding production
- Actively manage all resources available to deliver to quality and performance targets
- Drive a safety and quality culture and environmental stewardship
- Implement continuous improvement and change initiatives
**About you**
- Experience leading, coaching and supporting teams in a complex manufacturing / factory environment
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with a range of stakeholders to collaborate and influence others to ensure program deliverables are achieved
- Experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflict and negotiate
- Ability to lead a team's safety culture, setting high expectations and leading via values
