**Your Role**: The role works with our professional audit team and supports them by managing and improving corporate support functions such as finance, procurement, records management and human resource management. Reporting directly to our Head of Internal Audit, the Principal Business Support Officer is a key role in supporting the effective operations of the department's Audit and Risk Management Committee.
**Responsibilities include**: The Principal Business Support Officer is responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of an integrated and effective corporate support function across the branch ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation procedures that meet departmental data collection and privacy requirements.
- Providing secretariat support for the Audit and Risk Management Committee, overseeing the preparation of briefing materials, submissions and reports regarding corporate support issues, completed audit activities and requirements.
- Monitoring and reviewing the status of project deliverables and providing regular advice to the Head of Internal Audit and branch Director.
- Supervising and providing advice and direction to, a small administration team, managing performance and conduct to ensure best practice and process.
- Managing the branch budget and staffing establishment processes by coordinating and facilitating the planning, preparing, monitoring, and analysing of budget performance, including managing operational and project financial data.
- Providing high level input and advice in the preparation and coordination of strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting documents and ensuring the integrity of the branch's establishment data.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
- A history of implementing processes and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of administration processes in a similar role;
- Knowledge of a range of software products including the Microsoft suite, Adobe and document management systems;
- A willingness to expand their skills and consider alternative solutions to challenges.
- Experience using financial management software such as SAP is highly desirable.
