Territory Generation Operator Role
We are seeking an experienced TGEN Operator to join our team in Alice Springs, NT.
About the Role
As a TGEN Operator, you will work shift work as required to achieve effective monitoring of generating plant and associated equipment across different technologies.
Your Accountabilities
* Safety First: Carry out all duties in accordance with Territory Generation's safety, environmental, and quality policies. Model our values to drive a constructive culture.
* Effective Operations: Work with the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Berrimah to achieve safe and efficient operations of the power station. Operate part or all of the power station in local mode when directed by the ROC.
* Coordination and Planning: In conjunction with the Ron Goodin Station Manager, coordinate Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) systems and processes to deliver safe access to plant for planned and unplanned maintenance.
* Routine Operations: Conduct operations routines and work on the power station, including routine plant inspections, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, water treatment plant, equipment lubrication, routine tests, identification of plant defects through the business ERP.
* Work Hours and Rosters: Track all work hours through associated work orders in the business ERP. Participate in 24/7 shift rosters.
* Team Leadership: Direct, undertake, or supervise work as necessary to maintain the safety of personnel on site and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the power station plant.
Your Skills and Experience
* Safety Commitment: Demonstrated competence in workplace safety and commitment to safe work practices.
* Certification and Qualifications: AQF Level III Certificate or relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
* Constructive Culture: Demonstrated understanding and proven experience in contributing to a constructive culture.
* Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills resulting in effective team membership and contribution to work place objectives.
* Technical Analysis: Proven ability to analyse technical systems and assess/report anomalies.
* Computer Literacy: Well-developed computer literacy.
* Shift Work Experience: Experience with continuous shift work.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Gas Turbine Operation: Experience in operating gas turbines, dual fuel, and spark-fired reciprocating engines and exposure to defect reporting.
* Power Supply Industry: Trade-related experience within the power supply industry.
* Permit to Work System: Experience within a Permit to Work system ensuring safety access to plant.
* Mechanical/Electrical Trade: AQF Level III Certificate in a Mechanical/Electrical Trade within a relevant industrial environment.
This is a residential role based in Alice Springs, relocation assistance may be provided. Australian Citizenship or other eligible visa type required.
