About The Role
The Manager, Export Development and Trade Partnerships reports to the Director, Trade for overseeing the management, development and implementation of effective strategies and programs to increase the value of exports from South Australia and the number of South Australian enterprises that export.

The Manager, Export Development and Trade Partnerships is responsible for leading and managing the TradeStart Export Advisory team in the development and implementation of market development, trade and export programs in nominated sectors, and associated analysis and advice that supports the achievement of Department objectives.

The role provides expert advice, support and facilitation associated with building the capabilities of South Australian exporting businesses to enable them to capitalise on the opportunities provided in global markets.

As a Manager, Export Development and Trade Partnerships you will:

* Develop, execute and evaluate cohesive export strategies and programmes that capitalise on opportunities aligned with local industry capabilities and departmental trade targets.
* Lead strategic trade initiatives across priority sectors, coordinating market development services and facilitating a unified approach to international trade development for South Australia.
* Provide authoritative advice, analysis and briefings to Ministers and the Chief Executive on international trade matters, export activities and strategic opportunities.
* Manage the TradeStart programme, engaging with Austrade, Commonwealth partners and regional stakeholders to deliver coordinated trade support services.
* Plan and execute inbound and outbound trade delegations in partnership with State Promotions, building strategic networks with government and industry partners nationally and internationally.

Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:

* Knowledge of national and international trends, international business and issues affecting South Australia's export performance including existing and potential export markets and international business opportunities.
* Knowledge of South Australia's key business sectors, especially those relating to exporting.
* Knowledge of issues affecting established and emerging exporters.
* Extensive knowledge of key sectors of opportunity in trade and investment in the state's regions as well as knowledge of trade and business development issues, investment attraction strategies and economic trends.

Remuneration
Competitive salary MAS3 $127,859 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications

* Essential: Nil
* Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification (including but not limited to communications, arts, economics, commerce, international business, law, public policy, business management, project management).

Special Conditions

* The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) ongoing basis.
* Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC).
