**As the Waste and Cleansing Project Officer, you will**:
- Deliver specific projects to support and encourage community participation in environmental practices and programs including but not limited to: sustainable consumption and purchasing, waste avoidance and stewardship, recycling, reuse and processing, general waste and resource recovery and circular economy.
- Liaise, support and work in partnership with staff from across Council, other local councils, environmental networks, NGOs, Government and community groups to deliver a program of waste and cleansing engagement activities to the community, businesses and staff.
- Prepare reports and assist in the development of policies, strategies, programs and management procedures in relation to Council's waste and cleansing strategies, policies and plans.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Council's waste and cleansing programs and adapt future programs accordingly.
- Research and analyse waste and cleansing data and trends to inform service delivery and activities toward desired outcomes. Ensure knowledge of relevant industry trends for best practice delivery of service.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of environmental themed events such as festivals, forums and workshops to the community, working with Council's waste education and event staff.
- Contribute to project plans, work specifications, service level agreements and contracts.
- Provide financial and technical information for the completion of the annual Unit budget and business plan and other budget submissions as they relate to the waste and cleansing services.
- Manage people in project teams, as required, to ensure that individuals achieve their maximum contribution to the achievement of Council's objectives.
- Ensure the value of diversity and inclusion in all practices, engaging with and integrating the views of others.
**About You**
You will bring at least five years full-time equivalent experience in delivering outcomes relating to environmental sustainability/education/management, including related experience in waste and cleansing.
**Qualifications**:
- Tertiary qualifications in environment, project management or related fields
- Current NSW drivers licence (class C)
**Skills**:
- Project and resource management experience, including demonstrated ability to deliver related projects within set budgets and timeframes.
- The confidence and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners and/or stakeholders.
- Experience with budget planning, preparation and monitoring.
- Strong research skills, including a well-founded ability to interpret environmental data and translate into policy and practice.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills, including report writing.
- Advanced problem solving and decision-making ability, including confidence in working with leaders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex issues and conflict.
- Application of analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, developing, managing and contributing to complex, diverse, sensitive projects
- Experience in providing high-level advice on strategic priorities and resource allocation needed to achieve waste and cleansing asset outcomes

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $112,104 to $123,426 (salary inclusive of superannuation).
