Primary objective
Deliver leased property services to a portfolio of NT Government client agencies in a shared corporate services model.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Monitor, analyse, advise and report on leased property and business processes to optimise portfolio management,
performance, planning and decision-making.
2. Draft instructions to legal services providers on leasing contracts; valuers in relation to valuations and market reviews;
and write submissions for market determinations.
3. Settle new contract documents to ensure terms and conditions align with legal and business requirements and generate
associated documentation throughout the term of the contract.
4. Undertake procurement actions, including the preparation of documentation, to secure leased accommodation and
ancillary services.
5. Lead and manage to identify and recognise potential property issues before they impact on the business
operations / continuity of tenants, assess and analyse risks associated with tenancy issues, find and broker practical,
cost-effective solutions to those issues.
1. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with both customers and suppliers.
2. Implement, review and contribute to relevant leased property policy, procedures and governance arrangements in line
with service delivery standards and NT Government requirements.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Considerable understanding of the current and emerging commercial property market and the NT Government's leased
property needs.
2. Working knowledge of commercial property management practices, real estate law, valuation processes and procurement
practices together with substantial experience in drafting and interpreting contractual correspondence.
3. High level interpersonal, consultation, negotiation skills with a focus on effective relationship management.
4. High work ethic with a proven history of successfully delivering outcomes as well as working with integrity and
confidentially.
5. Knowledge of business process monitoring, reporting and process improvement.
6. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical
practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
