The Role
We are looking for an energetic Site Engineer to join our team, based in Caloundra.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist with building/managing stakeholder relationships, establishing project timelines and budgets that allow for the delivery of the most strategic functionality within the project constraints.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Complete preplanning with project teams and/or client, ensuring program requirements are discussed and reviewed collaboratively with Supervisor.
* Support Supervisor and paving teams in areas relating to design, specification and quality, including during discussions with client representatives as required.
* Analyses site locations and conduct surveys to determine the feasibility and requirements of civil engineering projects.
* Assist in optimising financial performance through the coordination, programming and administration of all contracting operations and obligations to meet or exceed contract requirements.
* Assist in developing project specific inductions and communicating project hazards and WHSEQ requirements and design risk assessments and controls with project personnel.
* Assist in identifying equipment and personnel and competency requirements for the contract works.
* Assist in reviewing sub-contractor plant, SWMS and personnel.
* Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
* Report and assist in the resolution of conflicts and disputes.
* Other duties as required.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:
* Civil Engineering Tertiary Qualifications.
* Proven success in estimating/ contract negotiation / contract administration or project management experience in the construction or civil construction industry.
* Proven experience in the surfacing industry.
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget.
* Proficient MS Office skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.
