Job Description
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll be a supporter, a strategist, a behaviour detective and occasionally the person who teaches everyone to breathe again after a MELTDOWN.
You'll be doing things like:
* Evaluating, developing & delivering evidence-based support plans
* Creating meaningful goals using a positive behaviour support framework
* Building capacity in the people who support our participants, families, carers, friends, support workers
* Working alongside a brilliant multidisciplinary team
* Championing the reduction (and elimination!) of restrictive practices
That's not a stepping stone to becoming a psychologist; it's a meaningful, legitimate, highly skilled career on its own.
About You
* Have a degree in OT, Speech Pathology, Social Work or similar
* Live within a 10-minute radius of either Melton or Werribee
* Have experience reading or creating, implementing or reviewing behaviour support plans
* Hold NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner status (suitable, core, proficient, advanced or specialist)
* Do NOT hold a BSP registration? It's ok, we can help you get there!
* Have a genuine passion for disability support
* Have experience working with challenging behaviours
* Love working with humans AND love writing (Yes, there will be paperwork)
What's In It For You?
* Flexibility: You choose your hours
* Excellent remuneration: Generous salary, car allowance, laptop, phone + salary packaging
* Work‐life balance: Work from home, our office/clinic, cafés... or wherever your brain works best
* Career progression: PD, growth, pathways within Ability Action Australia & our MedHealth family
* Feel‐good culture: Purpose‐driven team, uplifting vibe, great banter
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, proudly welcoming people with disability including mental health conditions, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people from the LGBTQI community, veterans, carers and Indigenous Australians to our team.
