We are currently seeking experienced Underground Project Managers to join our established operations in Western Australia. This role suits someone who takes pride in their work and who enjoys leading a reliable team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll take full ownership of project delivery - playing an integral role in the management team by building strong client relationships, setting clear standards, and driving daily operations to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
This is a permanent full-time position on a 4:3 FIFO roster.
The role is responsible for leading a positive workplace across the three pillars of people, safety, and productivity while managing a cohesive, professional, and committed project team. It involves building and maintaining productive business relationships with all stakeholders, including the workforce, subcontractors, and the client, and ensuring compliance with all company reporting and contract administration requirements. The position also requires maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and quality control across all contracted works, recruiting and retaining a suitable workforce to meet contract obligations, and effectively managing all resources to deliver project objectives on time and within budget. Additional responsibilities include preparing budgets and systematically collating data for progressive forecasting, actively reducing costs through effective expenditure control and minimising wastage, identifying project risks and developing appropriate mitigation strategies, and ensuring all Byrnecut equipment is maintained in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or previous experience as a Project Manager or Mine Superintendent/Foreman.
* A Western Australian First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (or be capable of qualifying for this) is desirable.
* Extensive experience underground in both development and production mining disciplines.
* Have a high-level understanding of general OHS, with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
* Clear and concise verbal skills with an advanced level of English reading and writing.
* Ability to understand, interpret and follow instructions.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
