We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all marketing and product related projects within Directed Group.
About the Role:
This newly created role will provide structure, clear workflows, and execution discipline. You will engage with all relevant stakeholders across a project; maintain close relationships with internal and external parties, and work cross-functionally to provide support for the successful delivery of innovative and fast-paced projects.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a unified critical path that encompasses the product life cycle: Brand/Portfolio, Product Development, but a particular focus on Marketing, including brand/category managers, studio, content, retail partners and channels, events teams, performance, media.
* Create project scopes, timelines, resource needs, and milestone tracking that integrates marketing deliverables with product readiness.
* Act as the central point of product & marketing project oversight for Category & Brand, Sourcing & Compliance, Marketing Studio, eCommerce, and Finance.
* Lead regular cross-team stand-ups to ensure issues are surfaced early and handovers are completed on time.
* Identify bottlenecks (e.g., compliance delays, creative revisions, retail campaign timings, go-to-market delays) and escalate or troubleshoot proactively.
* Produce regular status reports, dashboards, and progress updates for senior leadership.
* Document lessons learned through Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and share across teams to foster continuous improvement.
* Standardise and maintain project documentation (briefs, campaign templates, checklists, knowledge bases) to drive consistent workflows.
* Advocate for and help implement backlog management, sprint planning, or other structured ways of working that improve speed-to-market.
* Provide guidance and occasional training on project management fundamentals, ensuring broader team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
Requirements:
* Proven ability to deliver cross-functional projects on time and within scope (marketing focus, but spanning product, marketing, and sales).
* Adept at stakeholder management, particularly in fast-paced, opinion-driven environments.
* Able to communicate complex issues succinctly and diplomatically at all levels of the organisation.
* Using project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Monday.com) to maintain real-time visibility and accountability.
* Knowledge of marketing best practices (e.g., research and insights, brand planning, campaign planning, campaign rollouts, sponsorship integration).
* Understanding how product readiness and retail sales cycles impacts marketing timing and vice versa.
* Being comfortable identifying risks early, generating solutions, and prioritising resource allocation.
* A data-oriented approach to decision-making when possible, but able to pivot quickly under ambiguity.
* Thriving in environments with shifting priorities, able to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing momentum.
* Comfortable pushing back diplomatically on unrealistic timelines or scope creep.
* Knowledge of consumer electronics or a related industry is a plus, especially regarding retail marketing and brand-building.
