Electrical Substation Construction Manager Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Substation Construction Manager to join our team.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess over a decade of experience in substation construction and electrical distribution, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
You will be responsible for coordinating and managing project field activities, ensuring safety and identifying and managing project risks. Additionally, you will manage day-to-day construction work and procurement activities, resource requirements, and project issues.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating and managing all construction activities within a zone substation, focusing on safety and ensuring the project risks are identified and managed.
* Managing the day-to-day construction work and procurement activities, resource/application requirements, and project issues.
* Managing field resources in line with project organization structure, ensuring that the projects are completed to client expectations – safely, on time, to approved scope, quality, and environmental standards.
* Managing internal and external stakeholder relations with sub-contractors, the client, and internal staff.
* Coordinating sub-contractors and the quality of their work.
* Providing accurate input into forecasting of the program resource & financial requirements.

Required skills and qualifications include:
* Experience cultivating strong partnerships with stakeholders across the Victorian electrical market, demonstrating exceptional relationship-building skills and clear communication to ensure project success.
* Ability to nurture team growth through collaborative leadership, focusing on comprehensive health & safety training while fostering an inclusive work environment.
* Capacity to create detailed documentation and maintain meticulous records using SAP and MS Office, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple project phases.
* Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in managing competing priorities, while thoughtfully balancing resource allocation and team wellbeing.
* Time spent supporting cross-functional teams with empathetic communication and inclusive project management, drawing on extensive VESI training and electrical network expertise.
