Role
The key purpose of the Medical Writer is to enable and assist impact and benefit from the collective work of the MCHRI team and our over 100 partners. Responsibilities includes;
1. Write and edit high-quality medical journals, abstracts, white papers, articles, brochures, regulatory documents, and product manuals about healthcare-related topics such as [new medicinal discoveries/treatments, educational materials, clinical research, and product instructions
2. Create content for our website, newsletters, and PR with our communications manger
3. Communicate with medical and healthcare experts, patients/ community and other stakeholders
4. Source information and references including literature searches to support written documents
5. Conduct interviews with subject matter experts, healthcare thought leaders and providers about medical breakthroughs.
6. Collaborate and verify data with our team.
7. Thoroughly study reports and cross-check information.
8. Conduct frequent and thorough quality control checks
9. Ensure that documents adhere to the writing guidelines, and are appropriately stored and organized.
About You
The person we are seeking will be an experienced health, medical or science writer with a background in research or science as well as writing. Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to liaise and engage are essential. The role requires sound writing skills, along with demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and support clinicians and academics with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach
What you need:
10. Tertiary qualification relevant to writing content, health or social sciences degree or experience, or experience working in or with the health and or research sector
11. Current Victorian driver’s licence
