On Track Recruitment Solutions is a Western Australian blue-collar labour hire business supplying quality crews across Civil and Rail. We’re delivery-focused, fast-moving, and serious about standards. We have a strategy in place to expand, with a strong focus on building the right foundations, systems and team structure to scale properly.
Why this role
This is a hands-on GM role with real authority. You’ll run day-to-day operations, lead a small team, and build repeatable operating rhythms and standards that keep service levels high. You’ll work alongside hands-on Directors who support the business and strategy — while giving you the space to run your team and make day-to-day decisions.
Key responsibilities
Day-to-day leadership
* Run the daily/weekly operating rhythm: huddles, priorities, accountability and execution.
* Own service delivery: fill performance, response times, contractor care, client communication and escalations.
* Build strong relationships with key Civil & Rail clients and handle issues early and professionally.
* Maintain high standards across mobilisation, site requirements and compliance expectations.
* Maintain strong standards across communication, documentation and follow-through.
Team management
* Lead and empower the Recruitment and Payroll team with training, tools and structure to deliver great outcomes.
* Coach and support the BDM function, ensuring clear activity standards and commercial rhythm.
* Recruit, add and develop new team members as the business grows (delivery, sales and support).
Financial reporting & control
* Produce clear weekly/monthly reporting: revenue, GP, margin, contractor numbers, debtors, disputes and cashflow visibility.
* Lead debtor management cadence and dispute reduction with practical controls.
* Identify leakage early and implement simple fixes that stick.
Systems and scalability
* Build and embed SOPs, checklists and playbooks so operations run consistently.
* Improve reporting, meeting rhythm and internal accountability.
About you
* Proven senior leadership in labour hire / recruitment, ideally WA civil/rail or similar blue-collar markets.
* Strong operational discipline: you run cadence, standards and execution.
* Financially strong: comfortable with reporting, GP analysis, debtors and cashflow.
* High standards, structured, accountable, calm under pressure and good with people.
* Accounting qualification is a bonus, not essential.
What you get
* Base $180,000 + super + bonus
* Company vehicle, phone, laptop and professional development support.
* Hands-on Directors who collaborate and back you — without micromanaging.
* Authority to run the day-to-day and make decisions.
How to apply
Apply with your resume and a short note covering:
* The type/scale of operation you’ve led (team + contractor numbers).
* Your operating rhythm (cadence, reporting, priorities) and how you keep control.
* How you lead and develop people while protecting service quality and financial outcomes.
* Any relevant Civil/Rail client or site exposure (brief examples).
Shortlisted candidates will complete an initial phone screen followed by a structured interview and scenario discussion.
