About the role
This role is based in the Melbourne office and sits within a well established workplace and employment practice with a broad and diverse client base. The team advises across the full spectrum of employment, industrial relations and workplace matters, with work tailored to suit the experience level, interests and career goals of the successful candidate.
The practice acts for a wide range of clients, including private and public sector employers, private clients, government agencies and insurers. Matters are varied and may include advisory work, contentious employment matters, workplace investigations, industrial relations, discrimination, employment related litigation and strategic advice on complex workplace issues.
The team values a collaborative approach and provides exposure to high quality, interesting work across multiple industries. There is genuine flexibility to shape the role based on your level of experience, whether you are building your technical depth or looking to take on greater responsibility and client ownership.
About you
You will be a lawyer with at least 3 years' post qualification experience in employment and workplace law, with applications welcomed from Associate, Senior Associate and Special Counsel level candidates.
You will ideally have:
* Solid experience advising on employment and workplace law matters, gained in private practice or an in house environment
* Strong technical skills, with the ability to provide practical, commercial advice
* Experience working with a range of clients, or a genuine interest in doing so
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a national team
The role will suit candidates with either broad workplace law experience or a specialised focus who are keen to develop exposure across a wider range of matters.
