Overview
Builds, installs, repairs, and/or maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, building systems, and outside environment.
Responsibilities
1. Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine the necessity of repairs or maintenance.
2. Inspect, operate, test, maintain, and repair mechanical devices, machinery, equipment, and tools.
3. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
4. Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery.
5. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
6. Install, assemble, repair, and maintain electrical and gas appliances, equipment, systems, fixtures, lights, electronic components, plumbing systems, and fixtures.
7. Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers or obtain them from storerooms.
8. Paint or repair surfaces, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
9. Maintain landscaping (trimming, cutting, weeding, planting) and perform snow removal (plowing, shoveling, salting) to ensure appearance and safety for employees, residents, and visitors.
10. Fabricate, install, repair, maintain, and replace structural items such as counters, cabinets, partitions, floor and ceiling tiles, gutters, roofs, etc.
11. Prepare assigned areas for activities and events by clearing and rearranging furniture, setting up equipment, removing trash, etc.
12. Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after hours and checking for hazards.
13. Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies following safety procedures.
14. Input work requests and detailed information into PMWorx as needed.
15. Install equipment to improve the energy or operational efficiency of buildings.
16. Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training to stay informed and develop skills.
17. Follow established policies and procedures, including those of Presbyterian Villages, safety policies, and applicable regulations.
18. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or GED
Experience: One to two years related experience
Computer Skills
Ability to operate a computer and maintenance software
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Driver's License
Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred
Other Requirements
Must be on call and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
