Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies for coal sampling, preparation, and analysis services.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with coal mines, ports, terminals, exporters, traders, EPCs, and power stations.
Achieve annual revenue and margin targets for coal laboratory services.
Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, pricing, and service agreements.
Manage tenders, RFQs, and long-term service contracts.
Key Account Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the QLD state, Bowen Basin, Surat Basin, and port operations (Gladstone, Hay Point, Dalrymple Bay, Abbott Point).
Act as the primary interface between customers and internal laboratory operations.
Ensure high customer satisfaction, timely resolution of issues, and contract renewals.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor coal market trends, competitor activities, pricing benchmarks, and regulatory changes.
Identify opportunities for value-added services such as on-site sampling, fast-track analysis, and QA/QC audits.
Support expansion of services into met coal, thermal coal, and export certification testing.
Coordination with Operations & Quality
Work closely with laboratory, sampling, and QA teams to ensure service delivery meets customer and NATA/ISO requirements.
Communicate customer requirements clearly to operations teams.
Support audits, client visits, and technical presentations.
Marketing & Promotion
Represent the organization at industry events, mining forums, and customer meetings.
Prepare marketing materials, capability statements, and presentations.
Promote laboratory capabilities, turnaround times, and compliance strengths.
