Staff in the Regional and Fire Management Services Division are directly responsible for implementing the department’s responsibilities in national parks, nature reserves, marine parks, State forests and other lands and waters throughout the state.
We are a regionally-based division that works with neighbours, volunteers, partners, individuals, organisations and communities. There are nine Parks and Wildlife Service regions throughout the State. The directorate of the division is located at Kensington.
We are currently seeking a Carbon Farming Program Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities
Undertakes the planning work required to establish carbon farming projects on lands and waters managed by the department.
Assists with the development of policy associated with a current and emerging program across the whole of government.
Facilitates the implementation of carbon farming projects, including oversight of feasibility studies, method determination and for ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance.
Develops and implements auditing, monitoring and reporting programs for carbon farming projects to ensure they meet the requirements of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011 and other agency and State directives.
Liaises with internal and external stakeholders and organisations with carbon farming interests, including Traditional Owner partners, other government agencies and the private sector where required.
