We're Hiring: Drilling Offsider – Melbourne, VIC
Statewide Geotechnical (Aust) Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based provider of geotechnical consultancy services, drilling services and NATA-accredited laboratory testing. We are seeking motivated Drilling Offsiders to join our fieldwork team for an immediate start.
About the Role
As a Drilling Offsider, you'll support our drilling operations across various sites throughout Victoria. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, mechanical support, sample handling, rig assistance and working closely with the Driller to ensure safe and efficient site operations. Some nights away from home may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist drillers with daily drilling operations
Handle, label and manage soil and rock samples
Operate and maintain drilling equipment and tools
Follow safety procedures and worksite protocols
Conduct basic mechanical tasks and troubleshooting
Work effectively as part of a small, remote or local field team
What We're Looking For
Current MR or HR License
White Card
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Melbourne metro-based (or accommodation in metro Melbourne)
Physically fit and capable of demanding fieldwork
Ability to work away from home when required
Solid references
Experience in drilling or geotechnical fieldwork (advantageous but not essential — full training provided)
