About the Role
The Workforce Support Admin – GP Billing is responsible for managing GP billing across MATSICHS clinics, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely billing in line with Medicare requirements and organisational policies. Working in collaboration with the Clinical Services General Manager – MATSICHS, the role supports clinical governance and quality improvement processes. The position provides expertise in GP billing and operates within the framework of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Service, supporting the delivery of comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Optimise & ensure compliant billing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander‐specific MBS items.
* Maintain oversight of MyMedicare patient registrations, eligibility, and data integrity.
* Ensure alignment between clinical activity, billing, and funding acquittals.
* Assist management with funding compliance and reporting requirements.
* Develop culturally appropriate billing guides and workflows.
* Provide education on AMS‐specific billing rules and MyMedicare changes.
Qualifications
* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
* Current Criminal History Check
* Demonstrated experience in GP billing with strong Medicare compliance knowledge
* Experience working in an AMS, ACCHS, or Indigenous health setting
* Knowledge of 715 Health Assessments and Indigenous‐specific MBS items
* Understanding of MyMedicare requirements and continuity of care principles
* High attention to detail and strong ethical framework
* Knowledge of ACCHO governance and funding models
* Experience with Medicare audits or PSR processes
* Certificate III or IV in Health Administration or similar
* Experience liaising with PHNs, NACCHO, or Services Australia
