Hilton Adelaide is centrally located, overlooking Victoria Square. The hotel has 377 rooms ranging from guest rooms to the executive floor and suites. Hilton Adelaide offers unrivalled conference and events facilities comprising of 19 meeting rooms. It is the only 5-star hotel in Adelaide able to host 500 delegates to meet, eat and sleep, all under one roof.
What You'll be doing
Prepare and present high-quality dishes for the restaurant, functions, and other hotel outlets
Complete all mise en place for relevant menus and ensure food is stored and handled correctly
Maintain a clean, organised work area, following strict food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, FSMS), and preventing cross-contamination
Support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficient, timely service and consistent food quality
Respond to guest queries in a professional and timely manner
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team
Contribute to cost control efforts and support departmental financial targets
Report any maintenance, hygiene, or safety issues promptly
Work cooperatively with other departments and maintain strong working relationships
Adhere to all hotel security, fire, health & safety, and food safety regulations
Stay aware of team and departmental goals and actively contribute to achieving them
Promote environmental awareness in daily operations
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Demi Chef or equivalent role, ideally in a 5-star hotel or fine dining environment
Full Australian working rights and a relevant trade qualification
Excellent culinary skills with a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
The ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities, and think on your feet
Flexibility to move across different kitchens and service periods as needed
A team-focused mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills
A genuine passion for food, trends, and continuous learning
Availability to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends
