Job Title: Digital Communications Officer
This is a full-time fixed term role with 70 hours of work per fortnight and an optional RDO for six months. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a proud not-for-profit union located in Milton, close to public transport.
The Role:
As our Digital Communications Officer, you will be a key member of our Communications Team, focusing on engaging and monitoring the QTU's digital platforms, particularly social media channels. You will work closely with the Communications Coordinator to ensure our message resonates across all digital mediums.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and engage with QTU social media channels.
2. Monitor social media for stakeholder engagement and consistent branding.
3. Identify opportunities to increase member engagement.
4. Analyse social media performance and provide strategic insights.
5. Assist with web content management, SEO, and security as required.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will bring:
1. A strong understanding of social media channels.
2. Excellent written communication skills.
3. Experience in engaging and monitoring social media in a fast-paced environment.
4. Professional judgement in a changing, reactive environment.
5. A relevant tertiary qualification in public relations, communications, or journalism is preferred but not essential.
