Puma Energy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Kirra Street Import and Bulwer Island Bitumen Manufacturing Facility, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This role requires Fitter/Turner or Boilermaker Trade Qualifications and will be responsible for performing safe and efficient maintenance activities for the Bulwer & Kirra Street Facilities, including identification, planning, execution and reporting of required maintenance.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, focus on teamwork and high attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform planned maintenance in accordance with the maintenance short term and long term schedules, including: inspections; repairs; and annual production system shutdowns;
* Identify defects and scope required parts, equipment and resources to allow for future planned work;
* Procure equipment as required using the Purchase Order system;
* Overhaul major components on site as required to support all Australian Bitumen Terminals and prepare components as required for shipment to external suppliers;
* Support Terminal Management to identify opportunity for Defect Elimination and Continuous Improvement, including; reporting and documenting defects; identifying root causes of failures; and supporting scoping of engineering improvements for the Bulwer & Kirra Street facilities;
* Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards;
* Ensure risk assessments, permit to works, work instructions and procedures are followed for safe operation of activities related to the production, sale and distribution of bituminous products from the facilities;
* Review and implement Housekeeping standards, detect and report on hazards as they arise and participate in Group Safety meetings;
* Participate in and facilitate Risk Assessments, Permit to Works and Work Instruction development on site, as trained and authorised; and
* Perform training & assessing in procedures and maintenance activities, as authorised.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Minimum 3 years' experience in Trade (Fitting/Turning or Boilermaker), with industrial site experience;
* Manual Open License;
* High Risk License - Forklift & Elevated Work Platform preferred;
* Knowledge of relevant industry engineering and safety standards.

Experience in:

* Risk assessment and Permit Writing highly regarded; safe maintenance of a Bitumen facility, or similar; maintaining facilities that operate through a PLC or distributed control system; and using Maintenance software.
* A commitment to safe working practices and systems;
* Ability to work autonomously;
* Communication and Analytical skills; and
* A strong team player, self-motivated and driven to make improvements.

This position will not require travel but you will be on call based on a rotating roster within the maintenance team (and remunerated whilst on call and for call-outs).
