About Us
Western Private Hospital, located in Footscray, is a 62-bed private acute hospital and is the longest serving private hospital in Melbourne's west providing much needed services to the people in the expanding North West and Western regions of Melbourne and surrounding areas.
We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.
WPH's facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Procedure Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, PET Centre/Nuclear Medicine and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for an individual experienced in all facets of finance from accounts payable/receivable right through to supporting month end processes to join the Finance team and hit the ground running on a permanent part-time basis working 3-4 days per week based on-site working in the office in Footscray.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will primarily be responsible for completing day-to-day administration and processing for accounts payable and receivable in addition to providing secondary support to the broader Finance team. The key responsibilities and duties for the role will include (but not be limited to):
- Processing all accounts payable invoices in Business Central 365 finance system ensuring invoices are coded to the correct general ledger account following correct approval as per delegation policies/procedures
- Setting up new creditor details
- Processing weekly and ad hoc payment runs and ensuring payment terms are met
- Distribution of remittance advices; reconciliation of creditors with vendor statements
- Process accounts receivable invoices and follow up on outstanding debtors
- Banking duties including payments, receipting and reporting
- Monitor accounts payable mailbox and respond to / follow up / resolve queries
- Administrative duties including scanning / filing / archiving
- Assisting with month end processes including bank, credit card and bank reconciliations, fixed asset register and other ad hoc reporting and queries
About You

Selection Criteria
- Relevant certificate or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or similar field
- Well-developed knowledge of and at least 3 years' experience processing and reporting of accounts transactions using accounting software for medium to large sized businesses (Business Central 365 is desirable)
- Understanding and general knowledge of Australian accounting principles
- Strong numeracy skills, attention to detail and analytical skills to identify problems and develop practical solutions
- High level organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines and priorities
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed, work under minimal supervision and be a good team player
- Capacity to work effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate to advanced skills in using Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables, v lookups, etc)
