This Project involves greenfields and brownfields developments including earthworks through challenging terrain, construction of new crushing facilities and transmission line installations.Job SummaryIn this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges."This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership".Major ResponsibilitiesPerforms routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directedSupports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reportsAssists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesPrepares cost data for proposals or contractsCoordinates the development and accuracy of cost reportsVerifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistencyPrepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and proceduresCollects and classifies cost dataPerforms budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesPrepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisonsEducation And Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field with solid project controls or cost related work experience. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, extensive/demonstrated project controls or cost control experience. 8-10 years of relevant experience.Preferential will be in field experience across either EPCM and/or EPC execution models on major, complex projects.Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysisRequired Knowledge And SkillsExcellent oral and written communication skills must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.Proficient planning and problem-solving skills.Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications.Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications currently used in Bechtel (EcoSys and Microsoft Office Applications, for example).Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.Ability to interact effectively with colleagues in many different disciplines.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
