In a Cost Engineer role, you will effectively support the execution of cost control services on a major MRPV project in the heartland of northeast Melbourne. Your role will include;Previous experience in cost control, estimation, risk management and financial reporting at similar Construction projectExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and reporting skillsAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersPrevious experience with the Oracle (JD Edwards), FPM, Primavera (P6) and Production/Productivity management systems is desirableProficient in MS OfficePerforms routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directedSupports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reportsAssists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesSupports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contractsAssists in the development of quantity take-offs for a specific discipline or specialtyAssists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisionsThe successful candidate will be a self-starter with:Qualifications in Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or FinanceExperience in a similar cost engineering or project controls role on large infrastructure projectsProven ability to manage cost forecasting, variance analysis and reportingStrong working knowledge of construction financial systems, preferably JD Edwards, FPM and Primavera (P6)Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressureBenefitsWe believe our people do their best work when they feel supported — personally and professionally.
