About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Red Ochre Automation & Sensors Program based in Sydney, NSW, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will support the PEM, Lead Engineer, and the broader project engineering team to ensure contracted engineering services are delivered to meet project performance in quality, schedule, and budget, as well as operational mission needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide core contract engineering services:
Apply knowledge of engineering theories, concepts, practices, principles, and approaches in standard products and services, resolving technical and performance issues.
Design and develop solutions within the scope of the Consolidated Contract, validating assumptions through review, surveillance, and audit.
Undertake tasks such as:
Product testing and bench testing defence equipment
Documentation updates (e.g., PIRR/EE400) maintaining design documentation per configuration and change management processes
CAMM2, Modification Orders, Installation Orders, Deviations
Helpdesk requests and action items from customer meetings
Review peers' work, identify technical risks, and support planning activities.
Support the Service Centre and supply chain as required.
Develop engineering estimates for S&Qs, NTEs, or Minor Bids.
Support or lead ad-hoc engineering tasks as directed.
Conduct engineering requirement analysis, detailed design, testing, evaluation, and integration of ad-hoc projects.
Travel to BAE and Defence sites for engineering duties as needed.
About YOU
A background in electrical engineering is desirable.
Tertiary qualification in engineering is desirable.
Expertise in RF, Systems engineering, testing, and documentation is desirable.
Defense security clearance or eligibility for NV1 status.
