Opportunity
As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will lead the clinical management of acute and complex emergency presentations, offering expert decision‐making within a multidisciplinary environment. This position allows you to deliver high‐quality, evidence‐based care, provide academic and practical mentorship to junior medical staff, collaborate closely with nursing and allied health teams, and help influence the strategic growth and ongoing development of the Emergency Department.

Hospital
This prominent tertiary Level 3 public hospital is the largest referral centre in the Northern Territory and serves as the primary acute care hub for the region, covering an extremely large geographic area that includes urban, regional and remote communities. The hospital has approximately 370 beds and provides comprehensive services across medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetrics, intensive care, and emergency specialties, with strong involvement in trauma, infectious disease, tropical medicine and Indigenous health. Affiliated with Flinders University and other academic partners, it functions as a recognised teaching hospital with a structured clinical training program for medical graduates, trainees and registrars across multiple disciplines. The Emergency Department is a major referral centre accredited for advanced emergency medicine training by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), offering up to 36 months of specialist ED training. The hospital continues to expand and modernise its infrastructure, including the addition of new multi‐purpose ward capacity to support improved patient flow and care delivery.
Requirements
* Specialist registration with AHPRA/FACEM
* Currently enrolled in the ACEM training program and within 6 months of fellowship
* IMG with a confirmed ACEM interview date
* IMG assessed by ACEM and deemed substantially comparable
