The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our group of passionate engineers, designers and project managers. The role can be offered on a permanent full‑time or part‑time basis and can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane.
This is a mid‑senior level, full‑time position.
Responsibilities
* Import & manipulate vendor drawings/models.
* Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models including P&ID's.
* Export equipment/piping quantities.
* Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
* Support project teams with documentation, revisions and coordination of drawings/models.
* Establish and maintain design templates and drawing standards.

Qualifications
* Relevant TAFE qualification, diploma or degree in drafting, engineering or design.
Skills and Experience
* Proficient with CAD and Autodesk Plant 3D.
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices and relevant Australian standards.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
