Project Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to lead our maintenance and capital works projects in the Roads department. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
This role involves applying best practices to optimize project outcomes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across design, planning, and execution.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver projects efficiently, meeting time, budget, and quality standards.
* Oversee contractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
* Lead risk and quality management processes, identifying issues, implementing solutions, and maintaining high safety standards.
* Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing clear updates, addressing concerns, and resolving conflicts.
* Provide technical input and on-site support, mentoring Graduate Engineers to build skills and ensure project consistency.
* Monitor project finances, identifying cost-saving opportunities to optimize resource use and deliver value.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or similar recognized by Engineers Australia.
* Eligibility for membership of a professional body (LGEA, IPWEA, IEA).
* General Construction Induction Card.
* Current Class C Drivers Licence.
* Personal integrity and responsibility.
* Ability to prioritize and schedule work, meeting deadlines.
* Constructive feedback and team development support.
* Flexibility and agility to work across business areas.
