Our Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial processes, managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, and collaborating on new projects and business growth.
About Us
Established in 2004, Martinovich Psychological Services (MPS) is a highly regarded Clinical, Forensic and Organisational Psychology practice with offices across metropolitan and regional WA. Due to continued growth and strong government contracts, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team on a part‑time basis.
This role requires on‑site work at our Fremantle office at least two days per week. Some working‑from‑home flexibility is available. We are looking for a highly organised, tenacious and detail‑focused person to join our professional practice team.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Compliance
· Process payroll for approximately 18 staff, including superannuation, PAYG withholding and leave entitlements.
· Ensure accurate and timely submission of BAS, IAS, PAYE and PAYG obligations.
Financial Operations
· Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
· Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
· Monitor daily cashflow and assist with banking tasks.
· Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date accounting records using MYOB and Zanda software.
· Manage day‑to‑day accounting transactions.
Reporting & Business Support
· Prepare month‑end reports and maintain supporting documentation for audit and compliance.
· Scope financials and set metrics for new contracts and projects.
· Liaise with the external Accountant and Operations Manager as required.
Essential Criteria
· Tertiary qualification in Accounting, CPA or CA qualified
· Minimum of 5 years' experience.
· Advanced proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong understanding of Australian tax and employment obligations (BAS, PAYG, superannuation, payroll compliance).
· Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
· High level of discretion and professionalism.
· Current Police Clearance, plus the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable Criteria
· Postgraduate qualification in accounting.
· Knowledge of Medicare or health funding frameworks.
· Experience in healthcare or small‑business professional services.
· Familiarity with Zanda Practice Management Software.
