What you'll be doing
Provide basic patient care, clinical duties and/or administrative support under direct, indirect or remote supervision of the delegating allied health professional (AHP) and in accordance with NSW Health and LHD policies and procedures to achieve patient/client outcomes
This is a great opportunity to join our health service as an Allied Health Assistant on a temporary contract to support sub acute rehabilitation care at Kempsey District Hospital. You will be working in a fantastic Multidisciplinary Team, with opportunity to provide direct rehab therapy under scope of an Allied Health Assistant and direct supervision from multiple Allied Health Professionals. You will have the opportunity to continue learning and development, and networking with other Occupational Therapy and Allied Health staff. If there is not a preferred candidate able to work to the advertised full time hours, part time temporary contract may be considered. There may also be opportunity to extend work in either a contracted or casual capacity following the end of the temporary assignment. About You
You're a dedicated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant with a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance and hands-on clinical experience supporting elderly and disabled individuals across hospital and healthcare settings. your background has equipped you with a solid understanding of therapeutic practices, patient care needs, and the essential role Allied Health Assistants play in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support.
You bring strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills that allow me to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues while contributing effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams. you are confident in prioritising tasks, managing competing demands, and completing delegated activities within your scope of practice, always seeking guidance when appropriate to ensure safe and effective care.
With well‑developed computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email applications, you are comfortable navigating digital systems and supporting documentation requirements. you hold a current NSW driver's licence and maintain a professional, reliable, and proactive approach to all aspects of your work.
You are committed to supporting allied health professionals in delivering meaningful therapeutic outcomes and enhancing the wellbeing, independence, and quality of life of the individuals you work with.
