We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Consultant to join our team in Perth. The successful candidate will support government and industry by providing science-based insights, policy recommendations, and strategic guidance on fisheries management, aquaculture development, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental, economic, and technical assessments for fisheries, aquaculture, and coastal development projects.
- Study and analyse environmental and ecological data, including water quality, pollution, and marine resource assessments.
- Advise industry stakeholders, government departments, and Indigenous/First Nations communities on aquaculture, fisheries and marine resource management.
- Assist in developing policies, strategies, and codes of practice that support fisheries and aquaculture operations and management.
- Conduct environmental audits and prepare detailed reports, including concept and feasibility studies to support a range of development projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field.
- Although not essential, a master's degree in Environmental Science or a related field will be highly valued.
- At least 1 year of experience in environmental consulting or a related role.
- Additional experience in similar occupations will be viewed favourably.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in scientific and technical writing, data analysis and presentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
