As a contractor to the Australian Federal and NSW governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield, linking with the new Western Sydney Airport.
The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium made up of Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package of works for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport (SM-WSA) project.
RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain 6 new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills on the Western Sydney Airport metro line for 15 years after the line has become operational.
About the Role:
The Financial Accountant is a key member of the Finance team supporting both RATP Dev Australia and RATP Dev WSA. This role has shared financial responsibility across both entities and plays a critical part in ensuring accurate reporting, strong governance, and compliance with Australian regulatory requirements.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors, the Financial Accountant supports core finance operations, contributes to process improvements, and helps maintain efficient and compliant financial systems.
Finance
* Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with AASB standards.
* Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
* Ensure compliance with taxation requirements (BAS, GST, FBT, income tax) and assist with lodgements.
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and cash flow monitoring.
* Liaise with external auditors and assist with audit requirements.
* Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
* Prepare financial reports for management and key stakeholders.
* Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
* Undertake additional ad hoc finance duties as required.
Other Responsibilities
* Manage workers' compensation insurance requirements and related reporting.
* Provide broader business support and other ad hoc duties as required.
About You:
* 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of accounting, statutory reporting and tax requirement
* Proficient in Microsoft Suites and in Accounting Software (e.g. NetSuite, Xero)
* Experience in internal control and design of internal financial processes
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related filed
* Preferred CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification
