Empower Women and Children to Reclaim Safety

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team in providing life-changing support to those escaping family violence. As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed, holistic case management across crisis accommodation, refuge, and outreach settings.

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience in social work or a related field in line with mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners;
* Commitment to McAuley values; Community, Hospitality, Compassion and Justice;
* Demonstrated experience supporting women and children facing complex challenges related to family violence, homelessness, health and mental health, drug and alcohol use, trauma, and marginalisation;

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead specialist family violence risk assessments within the MARAM framework;
* Design and deliver holistic support plans addressing safety, well-being, housing, financial independence, social connection, and employment pathways;
* Collaborate with services and community partners for wraparound care and advocacy;
* Offer expert secondary consultations to support sector professionals working with affected individuals;
* Champion inclusive, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches in all aspects of support.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity (30.4 hours per week) based in Melton within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader, Family Violence.
