The work area
This role sits within the Economic Policy Directorate which is part of the Economic business unit. The Economic Policy directorate develops economic strategies and policies, advances economic reforms, drives better regulation across the State's public sector, and undertakes economic modelling and in-depth economic analysis.

The Assistant Director of the Economic Modelling team is responsible for managing a team and providing strategic direction and quality assurance for a large and varied work program, including:
* providing high-quality advice within Treasury and Finance and to Government on the likely impact of policies, investments and economic trends or emerging economic issues;
* delivering rigorous economic modelling and data analysis to support assessment of proposed initiatives and identify new areas for economic reform; and
* providing guidance to government agencies on the use of various economic impact analysis methods and tools.
