Utilise your Specialist Family Violence expertise to provide support and advice within the Family Violence Restorative Justice Service (FVRJ Service) Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work within a passionate team providng services to victims VPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation. About the business unit: The Restorative Justice for Victims of Crime program delivers restorative justice service options to victim survivors of family violence through the Family Violence Restorative Justice Service (FVRJ Service) and Under Sentence workstreams. About the role: The Lead, Victim Specialist in Restorative Justice role manages a small team of Specialist Support Workers (SSWs) to provide specialist professional services and expertise to ensure positive outcomes for victims and other participants in Restorative Justice programs. Specialist Support Workers are specialist Family Violence practitioners and work with both victim survivors and people who cause harm in the FV context to identify if restorative justice is right for them, and support them through the restorative engagement process. Specialist Support Workers work collaboratively with Restorative Justice convenors to ensure restorative justice services are safe, and consistent with best practice. The Lead also contributes to the ongoing development, monitoring and review of family violence restorative justice practice including the guidelines, standards and processes that govern eligibility, suitability and readiness assessment, risk assessment, management of cases, referral processes, collaborative practice and peer review. Some of your duties will include: Lead the development of program and practice material relevant to intake, assessment and referral activities and ongoing risk management for participants in victim centred restorative justice practice. Lead input to policies, procedures and guidelines underpinning victim support in restorative justice practice. Establish and lead processes for mentoring, coaching and supporting the practice team to provide high quality services. About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Practical specialist experience and knowledge of the nature, dynamics and impacts of family violence including childhood sexual assault, trauma inform.ed practice and working with people who have caused harm. Experience in team leadership and providing mentoring, coaching and supervision to practitioners. An understanding of restorative justice practice, theories and processes, including the unique considerations of victim-centred restorative justice. A relevant tertiary qualification in a human service-related profession (such as Social Work or Psychology) and/or a minimum of five years in practice in a related field (such as family violence specialist services, sexual assault services, family, community or child and youth services) is required.
