Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of critical spare parts required for maintenance and repair activities.

This position involves managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and streamlining procurement processes to maintain efficient operations and minimize downtime.

* Accurately identify and interpret parts requirements for maintenance and repair activities, taking into account factors such as lead times and supplier reliability.
* Provide expert advice to internal teams regarding correct parts selection, leveraging technical knowledge and industry expertise.
* Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts, implementing strategies to mitigate potential stockouts.
* Maintain accurate records of parts usage and update inventory systems regularly, utilizing data analytics to inform procurement decisions.
* Conduct periodic stocktakes and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring inventory accuracy and compliance with company standards.
* Source parts from approved suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms, fostering strong relationships with key suppliers.
* Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, leveraging negotiation skills and industry knowledge.
* Track orders from placement to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met and providing updates to internal stakeholders.
* Coordinate with freight and logistics providers for efficient transportation of parts, optimizing supply chain performance.
* Ensure all procurement activities comply with company standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the procurement process.
* Maintain accurate documentation for audits and reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
* Respond promptly to internal requests for parts and provide updates on order status, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
