A Government client is seeking a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor responsible for ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing needs of the organisation are met, and their leaders are appropriately engaged in health safety and wellbeing.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work in partnership with business units to coach and educate managers in, and promote and influence the implementation of, best practice injury and illness management.
- Provide advice on initiatives and/or changes relating to injury and illness management directives, policies or procedures.
- Provide expert rehabilitation and return to work coordinator advice and case management services to ill and injured workers, including maintaining case files and managing records in accordance with the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Legislation 2003.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as WorkCover, QSuper, medical and legal practitioners and occupational service providers.
- Utilise available workforce data and resources to deliver client-focused services and insights.
- Review and update of injury and illness management policies, procedures and intranet content as required.
- Prepare briefing memos, correspondence and other documents for senior leaders and staff, and participate in collaborative teams to continually improve People and Engagement (P&E) Branch services.
- Work with other parts of the P&E Branch to implement coordinated and appropriate solutions that address areas for improvement in relation to health safety and wellbeing.
**Key Criteria**:
- Industry experience and/or Qualifications in Rehabilitation and Return to Work.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven customer and relationship management skills, including conflict resolution skills, and a proven ability to work effectively in partnership with clients and stakeholders across a diverse organisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of best practice injury and illness management processes and practices, and workers compensation legislation.
- Demonstrates personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work, and a commitment to professional and self-development.
- Proven ability to present information, oral and written, in a clear, concise and articulate manner in consideration of the intended audience.
