About the role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Psychologist to provide clinical leadership across the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS). This role hasno direct reports but carries significant professional influence and responsibility for guiding high‐quality psychological practice across the service.
The position is based at the Paul Mullen Centre hub in Clifton Hill, with a requirement to travel to the Hume team at intervals agreed upon with the Hume Manager and the CFMHS Operations Manager. This allows the Principal Psychologist to support statewide service consistency, professional capability, and integration across teams.
You will oversee the delivery of evidence‐informed interventions, drive service quality, and provide expert consultation on complex cases. You will also lead initiatives that support safe community reintegration and continuous improvement across the organisation.
What You Will Bring
You are an accomplished psychologist with a strong track record in forensic or clinical mental health settings. You bring deep expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to evidence‐based, person‐centred practice.
* General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
* Master's or Doctoral qualifications (Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuropsychology)
* Eligibility for Area of Practice Endorsement
* Approval as a Board approved supervisor
* Extensive senior experience in mental health or forensic mental health
* Demonstrated capability in delivering training, supervision and clinical leadership
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
