About the Role:
Bowen Rail Company seeks an Operations Supervisor to join our Operations team in Bowen. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent (Rail), you will lead the day-to-day management of the rail operations workforce, ensuring productivity, team performance, safety compliance, and a culture aligned with our values.
Safety Leadership:
Set the standard for safety at Bowen Rail Company. Demonstrate visible safety leadership, ensuring hazard identification, risk evaluation, and risk control are foundational to our business.
Support the BRC rail operations team to ensure rail operations are planned, resourced, and executed to achieve customer and business objectives.
Monitor live train operations with a focus on delivering planned outcomes.
Provide leadership and direction to BRC workers, including train crew and support personnel, to meet business and customer expectations.
Champion a safety culture that promotes, creates, and maintains health and safety objectives and targets.
Coach and mentor train crew and support personnel.
Manage key performance indicators for train crew and support personnel.
Ensure the welfare of train crew and support personnel.
Manage and investigate operational incidents or non-conformances.
Support operations emergency and disruption management.
Monitor and review operational and train crew performance.
Provide accurate and timely advice regarding all company policies and procedures.
Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate IV in Train Driving.
* 7+ years' experience in an equivalent position.
* SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited).
* Experience supervising rail traffic crew teams in rail operations environments.
* Sufficient knowledge of the risk profile of railway operations and risk management processes required to eliminate or control risks to acceptable levels.
* Experience in incident investigation, reporting, and applying corrective action.
* Ability to effectively engage team members, establish, and sustain relationships, set clear direction, and provide coaching.
