About the Role - As the Network and Systems Administrator, you will be the backbone of our digital environment. You will provide day-to-day operational support and management across our cloud, desktop, server, and communication systems. This role is perfect for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on troubleshooting and strategic system enhancement. Key functions of the role include Administer & Optimize: Manage our LAN/WAN, firewalls, and server environments (both physical and virtual). Secure: Lead the charge on Cyber Security for the Council network. Support: Provide expert assistance via the Service Desk, ensuring the team remains productive and connected. Innovate: Research and recommend system enhancements to ensure technology costs are optimized and services are future-proofed. Document: Develop clear procedures and user guides to maintain institutional knowledge. About you - You are a seasoned ICT professional who thrives in a diverse technical environment and remains calm under pressure. You bridge the gap between complex technical requirements and user-friendly support. A successful applicant will have: The Foundation: A degree in IT and extensive experience supporting Microsoft Server and virtualization technologies. The Expertise: A proven track record in system administration, data backup monitoring, and disaster recovery. The Communication: The ability to explain technical concepts to staff with varying levels of ICT literacy. The Reliability: A valid Class "C" driver's licence and a willingness to participate in a rotating on-call roster. The Drive: A desire to stay ahead of industry trends, with a specific interest (or certification) in Azure, AWS, or ITILv4. What's on Offer Salary from $86,993.40 per year super, depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
