1. Divisional Officer - Executive Assistant Focus
This role is ideal for someone with strong EA or executive support experience who thrives on organisation, prioritisation and managing complex workflows.
2. Divisional Officer - Social Media & Content Focus
This role suits a candidate with demonstrated experience in digital communications, content creation and managing social media channels.
Key Responsibilities (for both roles)
* Provide proactive administrative and executive support, including diary coordination, prioritising commitments, preparing briefing materials and managing office systems.
* Act as a key point of contact for residents, businesses and stakeholders, triaging enquiries and ensuring timely follow‑up and resolution.
* Draft, review and coordinate high‑quality correspondence, newsletters, social media content and other community communications.
* Support the delivery of local engagement activities, community events and community‑focused projects.
* Maintain organised stakeholder, project and communication records, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting and information flow.
* Provide flexible support for additional Divisional Office duties and emerging priorities as directed by the Councillor.
About the role
We are seeking two proactive and highly organised Divisional Officers to support the Councillor for Division 4. These roles are central to the effective operation of the Divisional Office and contribute directly to delivering high‑quality services for residents, businesses and community groups.
Both positions offer variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, community‑focused environment. You will join a small, high‑performing team where collaboration, adaptability and a solutions‑focused mindset are essential.
While these roles are fixed term until April 2028, this recruitment process will also be used to create a pool for future Divisional Officer vacancies across the Gold Coast, including other Divisional Offices and potential part‑time opportunities.
Divisional Officer positions are aligned to the local government election cycle, with the possibility of extension. Officers may be required to relocate to other City locations as operational needs arise.

For both roles, you will bring:
* Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner when engaging with residents, businesses, community organisations and internal stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality correspondence, community updates, newsletters and digital content.
* High‑level organisational skills, with the capability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records in a fast‑paced environment.
* Experience in administration, executive support, communications, community engagement or a related field, with confidence working both autonomously and as part of a small team.
* Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn or use platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and SurveyMonkey.
* Sound judgement, discretion and a solutions‑focused mindset to support the effective operation of the Divisional Office.
Role-specific expectations:
Executive Assistant-focused role
* Demonstrated experience providing high‑level executive or administrative support.
* Strong capability in diary management, briefing preparation and workflow coordination.
Social Media & Content-focused role
* Experience creating engaging digital content for newsletters, websites or social media.
* Confidence managing social media channels and applying brand and communication guidelines.
