* Lead the implementation of a safe city strategy aligned with community plans
* Manage multidisciplinary teams across environmental health, compliance, enforcement, and ranger operations
* Respond to high-risk situations, maintaining community confidence and organisational reputation
* Foster a customer-focused culture ensuring respectful and timely service delivery
* Champion innovation and digital transformation using data analytics and automation
* Build strong partnerships addressing shared community safety challenges
* Lead complex investigations and represent in legal proceedings
* Monitor performance dashboards guiding strategic improvement
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Planning, Building Surveying, Law, or related fields — or equivalent experience
* Deep understanding of NSW legislation governing local government compliance and safety functions
* Proven leadership in regulatory teams, navigating complex issues
* Expertise in risk-based compliance, strategic planning, and operational excellence
* Strong financial management and budgeting skills
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead change, build high-performing teams, and drive continuous improvement
* Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
