BUILDING SURVEYOR
Summary of Position:
The Building Surveyor is responsible for carrying out required assessments against the relevant State's building regulations and requirements, and delivering the required reports/findings.
•Assessment of a range of building permit applications.
•Inspections and reporting as required.
•Attend design meetings as directed.
•Assist Managers/Directors in developing and managing practice policy and procedures.
•Work within a project team environment relating effectively with other team members.
•Support for administration staff with the following matters when they are absent or occupied, answer telephones, screen calls, take messages and expedite delivery of messages to Directors and Staff.
•Communicate design solutions in graphic and written media.
•Undertake status reports for clients and government departments.
•Updating of critical project files.
•Ensuring appropriate workflow in the office.
•Manage projects within a strategic Risk Management framework.
•Identify client needs and develop and articulate a project brief.
•Demonstrated ability to control difficult applications.
•Sound understanding of the statutory framework within which buildings are designed.
•Other Duties as Requested.
Qualifications and Experience
•Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying.
•Accreditation as a Building Surveyor.
•Working Towards accreditation as a Building Surveyor (Technical Officer)
Desirable:
•Additional qualification or experiences in a related discipline that would support the strategic imperatives identified above (Senior).
•Knowledge of/previous interaction with customers.
