About The Role
As a Renal Supportive Care Nurse, you will facilitate continuity of care across all phases of the renal journey, ensuring seamless collaboration between care settings and providers. You will serve as a patient advocate and play a lead role in service delivery for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, addressing multiple health needs and preferences.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) coordinates and delivers high‐quality nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's National Standards of Practice, the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award 2017, and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
Clinician engagement and leadership are central to our service. You will contribute to clinician‐led clinical standards, safety, and quality improvements, supporting the LHD's commitment to strengthening and involving staff in health service planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation.
Responsibilities
Provide specialist education, support, and communication to patients and multidisciplinary teams; advocate for patient preferences and coordinate quality care pathways; implement and monitor best practice protocols for CKD; lead continuous quality improvement initiatives; ensure compliance with national and local standards and policies; participate in staff supervision and professional development activities; and contribute to health service reporting and audit.

Eligibility and Requirements
* Australian citizen or permanent resident, or able to independently, legally live and work in Australia
* Registered Nurse with required qualifications and experience in renal or chronic kidney disease care
* Evidence of COVID‐19 vaccination and compliance with NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2024_015)
* Ability to work a pro‐rated schedule of 12 hours per week, including flexibility and shift variations
* May be subject to a six‐month probationary period from the date of appointment
* This is a Category A position
