**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Governance, Risk and Information Management section supports the onshore operational delivery of the PALM scheme through a) maintaining and reviewing PALM scheme overall and project-specific risk management plans, b) implementing the scheme's governance framework (in collaboration with DFAT) and undertaking a strategic secretariat role, and c) improving the Division's information management capabilities to achieve compliance with whole-of-government requirements.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Project Officer is responsible for assisting with section specific activities and projects, as detailed under 'Duties and Responsibilities' heading.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 include:
General
- Under limited guidance, perform research and analysis work
- Assist in the preparation and review of plans, papers, briefs, cheat sheets and other program governance, risk, and information management documentation
- Manage projects of administrative nature and handling short-term tasks (such as group membership and permissions, bookings, data entry)
- Work constructively with internal and external stakeholders to manage their needs and priorities
- Contribute to the strategic planning for the section
- Communicate with diverse audiences through well-developed written and verbal skills
- Adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
Specific - one or more of the following
- Assist with the governance and secretariat activity
- Assist with development, monitoring, and review of risk management plans
- Advise internal stakeholders on good practice information management, and contribute to the development of information management tools, such as records authority and supporting business classification scheme.
**Qualifications and Education**
Completion of a competency-based certificate in either governance, risk management, or information management (or related discipline)
and/or
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: governance, risk management or information management.
