As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities support to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate. You will perform a range of activities to ensure the school is maintained to a high standard, following set instructions, and demonstrating independence in routine day-to-day services. The role involves regular supervision for non-routine duties. Tasks requiring qualified trades skills are not part of this role.
This is an OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed at the OO2 classification with eligibility to progress to OO3 upon meeting specific criteria. The salary rate shown reflects the OO2 to OO3 classification range.

About The Role
Responsibilities include:
Performing day-to-day activities such as delivering and collecting mail, parcels, and documents; recording and delivering messages; printing and photocopying; preparing classrooms for examinations; setting up activity/assembly halls, including moving furniture; managing general store duties including stock control; maintaining registers; and recording/engraving school equipment and assets.
Supporting security duties, including maintaining security systems, banking school funds (transporting and depositing, not collection or reconciliation), and locking/unlocking buildings within core hours.
Assisting with grounds maintenance such as clearing drains and gutters, waste collection, and cleaning duties outside normal cleaning hours. Assisting with event setup for fetes, plays, and sporting events.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, maintaining a safe work environment, handling chemicals and fuels safely, reporting hazards, managing equipment records, and maintaining tools and equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
